Taylor parks is a rising star in the music industry. How did you discover songwriting? What made you say, like, this is what I have to do? Sometimes you got to lock in and get back to the thing that you started off in.
Where Did Your First Break Come From?:

When would you say you caught your first break? I think that it would have to be probably boss by, like, Fifth Harmony. After all of this time and having the number ones and having all of the Grammy nominations, I would still say that that's actually one of my first proud things.
How Do You Craft Songs For Your Artists?:

How do you craft songs differently? Do you do it differently for different artists? Depending on the artist? And going back to the brand, my brand is tailor made, so it has to be specific towards that artist.

Singer-songwriter says every great song starts with a good conversation. He says you have to be a chameleon if you want to be successful as a songwriter. He takes the art of songwriting very serious.

Taylor: We're all about the vibes, good energy. If you can walk in and you can carry that energy anywhere you go, people will be open and receptive to know. That's what I need to get to in these songs, is the honesty.
How Songwriting Processes on Your Own Music:

Would you be able to describe your songwriting process for your own music? A lot of my album title, We Need to Talk, came from finding with my own stuff. In growing as a person, it's taking that time to always be in touch with yourself.
How To Balance Your Artistry and Songwriting:

When you were first starting, like, just talking about balancing your artistry with songwriting. How do you manage that? I think having a clear sense of identity as an artist. You have to do it from just having fun and being genuinely you.
Writing a Hit Song:

Every artist works differently. I don't think there's a right or wrong way to get to a hit. A hit song is just an honest song at the right time coming from the right person. You have to make the right bet when you're writing for these artists.
Dealing With Career's Ups and Downs:

How do you deal with ups and downs? I get a song still passed on every day. It's really hard to work on something and it come from the heart and people just pass on it. Allow yourself to feel whatever you're feeling like. If it's a low know there's another high coming.

I'm genuinely a pretty positive person. It's been able to strengthen my communication skills. People like to work with people who they enjoy working with. Sometimes people just need to hear it. Having a positive attitude well ties in with your question.
How My Publishing Deal Led To:

I was going back and forth a lot initially on if I was going to do a publishing deal, he says. Big John is one of the most successful publishers of our time. He was like, ain't nobody going home until we get this deal done.
How To Get Your First Music Deal:

Even publishing in the past two years has changed a lot. You can use a deal simulator to see how your deal turns out for you in the end. It has a lot to do with just the knowledge. We're a part of a new industry, possibly. It's on us to be creating that new industry.

How do you make sure that you're remaining positive, but it's not at the expense of your emotional and mental well being? You have to be real about your emotions. And everybody's taking care of their self is different.
Do Vocal Producers Have Special Skills?:

Acting background gives you special vocal producer abilities. If you have great communication skills, you can definitely be a vocal producer. There is a best vocal category in the Grammys. When you're able to do that, run with it.

n order to have longevity in this business, you have to be versatile. Know. finds the balance of working with tons of new people. The genres are changing so fast that you really do. You have to continue evolving and do your thing.
How Nashville vs Atlanta Music Business Is Different:

The way that Nashville does business is very different than how they do business here. Even the publishing, it's very different. Everyone's getting the same thing. And when something is in dispute, artists will really drop your songs.
How has your process been like working with other producers:

How has your process been like working with other producers? Are you usually going to a session starting with a beat, a loop from scratch? How do you prefer to work typically with yourself?

I knew that I was ready to start my own publishing publishing company. I want my writers and producers to be a reflection of the new normal. And I'm the type of personality that's like, if I want to see something change, I'm going to do it myself.
What do you look for in writers and producers that you sign to:

What do you look for in writers and producers that you sign to your publishing? Definitely the talent. But what I look for more than the talent is how hard are you willing to work. Success is like financially okay to do what you need to do.
Best Advice When You Starting Out:

The singer-songwriter shares some of the best advice he was given when he was just starting out. Take care of yourself. Remember, it's about being honest. Finding those balances early on would benefit a lot of writers.
Working Hard and Taking Care Of Yourself:

An important thing for you is work ethic and working hard, but also taking care of yourself. How does that like, what's your expectations to your writers, the people you sign? What does a week look like? How much do you expect them to work?

The Burnout writing retreat actually started because I felt like the balance was super important, and we open it up. Usually we have three different types of creative. I think we're doing one in London next.
