Fallon and Felicia are Grammy nominated songwriters. They started out in Atlanta, Georgia originally. Theyve been working with pretty much every major artist. Todays workshop will focus on songwriters, art, this, all the above.
Songwriting in the Studio:

Everybody wants that top line, incredible hit sounding record. Everything starts with melody and everybody has their own different way of writing. Music isnt a competition and everybodys art is their own art. Most creative processes, is literally just that its creative.
On Collaborating In A Room:

I think every artist deserves their time to shine. If the session is a session, to me, should be curated around the artist. An idea can come just by you being there. Its not a competition. Do you have any questions for us?
Finding Sound For New Artists:

You give some advice to songwriters and producers working with artists that are maybe newer and still finding their sound. Finding sound is very important because you have to find a niche that fits in a genre. Dont rush it. Get better at your craft.

A true songwriter is naturally diverse. People will want a perfect example is like SIA. How do you make that think outside the box but be diverse and make it yours?

As songwriters, who are some of the important people that have contributed to your success? Find the person or the people around you that believe in you. Consistency is just as important as team.

Theres always a mutual respect between me and my sister. Now that were older, weve gotten to a point where its just like, you got it. Im going to let you do your thing. And thats with the trusting the process part, too.
How Its Made: From Writing To The Song:

The process can literally be at random. Do you rely on your lawyers and management to solve the question until its out, or do you also participate? You can definitely participate when it comes to negotiations. relationships and sticking with like because a lot of songs come out because you stuck with an artist.
How has your creative process changed during all this time together:

How has your creative process changed over the years? Music has changed a lot. The main thing weve learned is how to constantly reinvent ourselves. I think its incredible for us to be able to work together as a family.
How Involved Should the Producers Be in the Songwriting?:

How involved do you think the producer should be in the writing? The producer is very important. Its okay to be very involved, but just read each other and make sure youre doing it comfortably. You can throw out anything.
How Much Do You Write With An Artist in the Room?:

As a songwriter, I come up with ideas every day. How much do we write with an artist in the room and versus without an artist. Youre going to write mostly alone because thats when your creativity flows a lot more.

Do It To would always be near and dear. All the songs that released, Im grateful for. Just how its evolved. Its just been incredible.
The Importance of Demo Vocal:

How important is the quality of the demo vocals in getting the song pitched and cut? The demos just need to be believable, right. If youre believable, theres artists. demos are hella important to who youre playing them for.

Practicality matters. Starting a record off undeniable with the first line. Relatability is more important than an uptempo hit. Find and reinvent new ways to talk about what you want to say lyrically.
How Does Your Songwriting Process Change When Working With Others?:

How does your songwriting process change whenever youre collaborating with a different collaborator like Harve, Ricky Reed, or in a songwriting camp? When you guys do have burnout, how do you guys deal with it? Take your time.

How important has speed been in your success? Like being able to just turn out a really good song? That is very important. If you want quick turnarounds and like sync commercials and stuff like that, speed is veryimportant.
How Many Sessions Do You Schedule For Yourself?:

Do you have mental goals or hows your schedule? Absolutely. I do now I do maybe four or five sessions a week. Sometimes I may not do not one session in a week if Im completely mentally exhausted. Your mental health and everything is very important.
What are best and worst traits of the producers:

I dont work well with producers that are forceful. Putting a lot of music in a record for a songwriter is really hard to come up with. Be versatile. And thats very important, too.

Good artists copy great artists. If you hear something that you like from somebody else, steal it. Is there anything you guys did to get better at melodies? How much do you rely on which songs are the most exciting?
The Importance of Gay Issues:

If its two other writers or producers in a room, Im listening. Im not just about to go to my own understanding when I know these people are just as great. Thats important.
Timing Is Everything:

Theres timing for everything. Sometimes your management and your record label, they will be the ones thats like, if you put this one out, this makes more sense for the state of the world. So sometimes we can get caught up in our own creativity of wanting to create something new.
Bill and Carey: Listen to Your Music:

Do you listen to your demos on your car? Oh, yeah, girl. You got to BOP to your own music. Even when you get in your car, you going out with your friends on a random weekend, play the music. AlwaysListen to your music.
Could You Write A Song For This Artist?:

Nobody really knows a hit till you hear it. You can revamp a hit. How will we ever know what's next? It's up to you all. What's Next could easily be something you write tomorrow.
SIA on Studying Artists & Music:

You talked a little bit about studying artists or the music industry. Do you do it deliberately? Do you just kind of absorb things as you go through? Absolutely. I think studying is important when it comes to how you want to write or produce.
